Q.2How has the second wave of the pandemic affected business? How is the company managing risks and ensuring business continuity during the second wave?

For an emerging market like India where new possibilities are always evolving, we are always confident about the growth prospect of Testo. The kind of product range we have with so many features and areas of application for our measuring instruments, the future is full of opportunities. We do experience situational fluctuations in the demand dynamics at times, like the one we had right now due to the second wave of COVID, but then that is unavoidable, and the entire industry is learning to manage its operations as per the situation. We too are progressing with necessary strategy to create opportunities & ensure business continuity. Additionally, our solutions speak for themselves. For instance, to check the performance of electrical systems, power plants or any other application, constant inspection and monitoring is necessary in any condition, and we as a measurement equipment company play a crucial role in ensuring the necessary standards of the processes, system, and operations along with condition monitoring of components.
Our continuous R&D on new products & solutions enables us to provide smart instruments that not only carry out measurement task but even help the user with data recording, on-site reporting, and safety too. We feel that our technologically advanced products & continuous efforts will help us grow in the future.

Q.3What are some of the new and promising technology trends that are shaping the Indian electrical industry?

At the current scenario we are witnessing a great development prospect in the Indian electrical market and a lot of new technologies are getting established. Electrical industry is very vast that includes electronic goods, power & utility products, HVAC systems, telecom, industry components, tools, machines, gadgets and many more. Even electric vehicles would be a part of the industry soon. In terms of technology also, we are on a progressive path with constant development. The latest advancements are coming in the forms of smart operation which is also the current trend accompanied by the digitization of the working system. Advanced methods are being adopted in the sector right from the product development, assembly to manufacturing of electrical goods and services. As far as the testing and measurement industry is concerned which also belongs to the same segment, a wide variety of smart and intuitive products are being developed for the troubleshooting of electrical components and systems. Right from maintenance of HVAC systems to the inspection of Solar PV panels, every aspect is now under check & long life of the equipment can be ensured very easily.

Q.4How is TESTO transforming itself to cater to the emerging needs of the Indian electrical industry?

Considering our latest and most advanced solutions for instance, our Electrical Instruments are very distinct in their features. They are excellent instruments to inspect the electrical components for short-circuits or circuit failure threats. Along with that they ensure longevity and efficiency of various power electronic components that control and regulate the flow of electrical energy. The unique Clamp meters and Multi meters are intuitive and can measure several parameters in a single component. Our new range of Thermal Imagers with smartphone integration designed to deliver networked thermography are mostly used for predictive and preventive maintenance in electric and power sector. These electrical instruments & thermal imagers are the best solution for trouble shooting in electrical industry.

Q.5How technologies like IoT, Big Data and other smart technologies are helping the industry in survival?

It is a very well-known fact that existing systems are getting digitized and smart technology &IIoT has become very relevant within the industry. The new phase of industrial revolution has experienced this disrupt on a very broad spectrum from manufacturing to service sector. The industrial operations are now self-governed where the processes can communicate within themselves and take corrective actions in case there is any deviation. This helps in reducing the downtime of the operation. Data storage and analysis becomes super easy with the inclusion of smart techniques, which also helps in higher efficiency & reduced wastage. Same goes for the T&M division too where the products have evolved with the new technologies. The measuring instruments are now more intuitiveand could be easily integrated with various operationsfor troubleshooting, predictive maintenance and are also capable of generating alarms & reminders without any human intervention.

Q.6What are your top priorities for TESTO for the next one to two years? What are the company’s growth plans?

India is termed as an emerging market and the numbers are only growing. In a very short span of time from its inception, Testo India has grown exponentially, thanks to our innovative products and German technology. In the years to come we are confident to multiply our success as we provide solutions for several industrial applications which require testing and measurement of parameters along with troubleshooting & maintenance. We have plans to launch several new products & extend our arms to all possible regions, industries and newer applications. We intend to offer solutions that are relevant, precise, easy to use and supports environment health, air quality and human comfort. We now provide complete solution, from hardware to sensors to software, for a couple of applications and work to improve continually. Testo also has an NABL accredited service & calibration LAB that takes care of the after sales support locally from Pune. This facility is highly cost effective as it delivers international standards very conveniently. We feel that our technologically advanced products & continuous efforts before and after sales will help us grow in the future.
