Q. Gloster Cables has set an ambitious target to achieve a turnover of ?1,000 crore in the next two years. What strategic initiatives are being undertaken to realize this goal, and how do you envision the company’s growth beyond 2025?

Gloster Cables aims for a ?1,000 crore turnover by 2027 through significant capacity expansion, especially in HT and domestic wires, alongside product diversification into specialized cables. We’re boosting market reach across India and through exports, while leveraging government infrastructure initiatives. Beyond 2025, sustained growth is expected by maximizing expanded capacities and increasing market share in power and non-conventional energy, all underpinned by our commitment to quality and technology.

Q. Gloster Cables has recently begun exporting to African countries. What are the key factors driving this international expansion, and which new markets are being targeted?

Gloster Cables’ expansion into Africa is driven by the continent’s booming infrastructure, including power and telecom projects, and a rising demand for specialized cables. We’re leveraging India’s competitive manufacturing edge and the untapped market potential, particularly in countries with significant electrification and digital transformation initiatives, to drive this international growth.

Q. Gloster Cables offers a wide range of products, including LT and HT cables, fire survival cables, solar cables, and instrumentation cables. How does the company ensure innovation and quality across such a diverse product portfolio?

Gloster Cables ensures innovation and quality across its diverse cable portfolio through a strong focus on R&D and advanced manufacturing technologies like triple extrusion. We implemented rigorous quality checks from raw material sourcing to final product, backed by well-equipped, NABLaccreditation-seeking in-house labs and external certifications from bodies like CPRI and TUV. This comprehensive approach, combined with a skilled workforce, ensures high-performing and safe products.

Q. The company has secured significant orders for fire survival cables from major petrochemical companies. What technological advancements have been made in this product line, and how do We meet stringent safety standards?

Gloster Cables prioritizes advanced technological solutions for its fire survival cables, a crucial product for petrochemical companies. We use a fire barrier, typically high-temperature resistant glass mica tape, over each conductor to prevent short-circuiting during a fire. In this regard we strictly follow IS 17505.

Q. Gloster Cables has nearly doubled its production capacity and added a new CCV line to meet the demand for HV cables. How have these enhancements impacted production efficiency and product quality?

Gloster Cables’ nearly doubled production capacity and new CCV line significantly enhance both efficiency and quality, particularly for HV cables. We achieve this by utilizing state-of-theart triple extrusion technology, which ensures superior insulation quality and consistency. This advanced process minimizes defects, leading to higher product reliability and faster manufacturing cycles, ultimately meeting the exponential market demand for HV cables driven by government infrastructure projects.

Q. How is Gloster Cables integrating sustainability into its manufacturing processes, particularly concerning the development of eco-friendly cable compounds and waste reduction strategies?

Gloster Cables integrates sustainability by focusing on eco-friendly cable compounds and waste reduction in its manufacturing processes. We utilize materials like polyethylene and polypropylene for improved insulation, moving away from traditional PVC where possible, and develop specialized products such as low smoke zero halogen (LSZH) cables.
