Q. How is Fuji Electric offering the choices to customers break free from the limitations of old technology?

Fuji Electric India offers a world-class range of factory and process automation, instrumentation, electrical distribution and industrial control products built on Japanese technology to achieve precise control and efficiency. We also offer one of the broadest ranges of power backup solutions for the Indian market. Leveraging the strength of our R & D and advanced 3-level IGBT Fuji Electric Technology, our UPS Products are available from 1 kVA to 4,800 kVA. Customers choose our products for our high-quality and latest technology. Our robust R & D department ensures that the old technology is replaced or updated to ensure smooth sailing for the customers.

 

Q. According to you, how has been 2023 for Fuji Electric India?

It has been a great year for the Fuji Electric India. We had posted as attractive growth in 1st 3 quarter and expected to post over 30% growth comparing last year. 2023 been a historic year for Fuji Electric as we laid several milestones like New manufacturing facility setup in Chennai, launch of PV 1500 series central inverters for large-scale solar plants, Manufacturing of LV drive and Instrumentation products locally, Expansion of Pune Manufacturing Facility and R&D centers. In 2023, we worked towards making our make in India a realization as now our complete Energy and Automations solutions are Made in India. Our circuit boards are now manufactured in house and satisfying not only the local need but also for the other markets. These investment are in line with our global objective to make India a manufacturing hub for Fuji Electric coping APAC and Middle East markets.

 

Q. As India aims to become a global manufacturing hub with a new national strategy, how is Fuji Electric contributing to this growth story of India?

India’s journey towards becoming a global manufacturing hub is marked by multidimensional growth in manufacturing, infrastructure development, a skilled workforce, and supportive government policies. We at Fuji Electric with over 100 years of expertise in power electronics business are committed to India’s growth. Our recent investments in India are well aligned with our global objective of making India as a manufacturing hub for Fuji Electric. There has been an increase in demand for Fuji solutions. This is evident from the pan India service network represented by more than 400 trained service engineers with a presence in 80+ locations. Besides, there are 18+ sales centres, as well. Our recent investment in Chennai plant into setting up the state-of-the-art manufacturing facility will fulfil our vision to manufacture automation products, help us meet customers’ demands and propel us to become a Rs 1,500 crore company by 2024. As for the Indian customers, they will get made-in-India products, powered by the best of Japanese technologies. We further intend to invest to strengthen our manufacturing capacity in India over the next four years. This will enable us to serve Indian and global customers as well.

 

Q. How are the products of Fuji Electric changing the scope of work for its customers?

We have earned the trust of more than 600 customers with installations crossing 1 MW. Our diverse portfolio of innovative products and solutions, caters to various industries and applications. FEI products and solutions in smart office buildings, IT & datacentres, F&B, speciality hospitals, renewable energy projects, ports and commercial offices is not only saving costs for the customers but is also preventing costly re-work and project overruns. Energy saving and energy efficiency products and solutions from FEI will winning hearts all over.

 

Q. How is ‘Make in India’ fuelling the power in India’s Electrical Equipment Market and do you want to see any changes from the government side in 2024 to boost the segment?

The ‘Make in India’ initiative has its impact on all sectors and is positioning India as the most preferred manufacturing destination. All our products are manufactured in our facilities in Chennai or Pune. With India aiming to become home to over 2,000 Global capability centres and the data centre capacity increasing three times in just four years, the focus will be on creating a robust infrastructure. I expect positive incentives from the government to help the power industry perform better.

 

Q. What are the market expectations and growth trends highlighted until 2030 for the Electrical and Power industry?

Infrastructure is developing globally and Power is among the most critical components of infrastructure, crucial for the economic growth and welfare of nations. I expect the growth to be tremendous for the electric and power industry globally. Providing universal access to affordable power in a sustainable way has been the motive of India’s power sector. The growing demand, attractive opportunities, support from the government and higher investments will ensure an exciting time ahead for the industry.

 

Q. How do you envision growth for your company for the next five years and what are the future investment plans of your company?
