Auto industry giants Nissan and Honda said today that they have agreed to explore strategic alliances in electric vehicles and other areas. "It will be necessary to strengthen environmental and electrification technologies as well as software development in order to further accelerate efforts towards carbon neutrality and zero traffic-accident deaths," a joint statement said.

 

It added, "both companies have reached an understanding based on the belief that it is necessary to combine their strengths and explore the possibility of future cooperation. The feasibility study's scope includes automotive software platforms, essential components relevant to electric vehicles, and supplementary items."
