Lockdown constraints amid second wave of Covid-19 a downside risk for electricity demand: ICRA

Tata Motors will split its business into two separate companies

Tata Motors said on Monday that its board approved a proposal to split the company into two separate listed entities. The auto major stated that the commercial vehicle business and its related investments will be housed in one unit, while the passenger vehicle business, including passenger vehicles, electric vehicles, Jaguar Land Rover, and its related investments, will be part of another unit.

It added that the demerger will be implemented through the NCLT scheme of arrangement, and all shareholders of Tata Motors Limited will continue to hold equal shareholding in both of the listed entities. The shares of Tata Motors ended 0.12 percent down at Rs 987.20 on the BSE on Monday.
