Electric lines on only 1 out of 5 Sabarmati Riverfront Event Blocks

Since last year, the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has been trying to get multiple power connections for its huge venue on the western bank of the Sabarmati River. Since safety rules set by the Gujarat Electricity Regulatory Commission (GERC) prohibit multiple connections in open ground to eliminate the risk of accidents due to crossed power lines, only one of the five blocks of ground, 'A', has an electricity connection. AMC rents blocks individually for events. As per the news, Sabarmati Riverfront Development Corporation Limited (SRFDCL), a subsidiary of AMC, had not anticipated the complexities of managing this huge venue. After opening the land for rental, he found insufficient demand for the entire space and divided it into five blocks.
