Three caught for stealing electrical sub-station construction materials worth Rs 1.3 crore in Tirupati.

The Tiruchanoor police arrested three people who stole electrical substation construction materials worth approximately Rs 1.3 crore.According to Chandragiri DSP TD Yashwant, the accused were identified as Nanduru Siva Prasad (Avanihadda-Krishna district), Talasila Naresh from Krishna district and L Gnana Prakash, a resident of Renigunta mandal in Tirupati district.The accused posed as sub-contractors and stole away copper control cables, ACSR panther conductors and GI tower parts belonging to a private company on June 16. The materials were meant to be used for the establishment of a 132/33-KV substation at Chennaiahgunta village in Tirupati rural mandal.
Following a complaint lodged by the private company whose materials were stolen, the Tiruchanoor police who registered a case, recovered the stolen materials worth Rs 1.33 crore.
Police also seized five trucks used by the accused to steal away the materials.TD Yashwant appreciated Tiruchanoor CI BV Sivaprasad Reddy and his team for resolving the case in a quick span of time and recovering the stolen property.
