Group Nirmal is as an established quality manufacturer of world- class wires with an annual capacity of 2,16,000 metric tonnes and a ?2000-crore turnover operating in 7 state-of-theart manufacturing facilities. Our main products are Steel Wires, with a focus on Galvanized & Black Steel Wires, Aluminum Wires & Conductors, Zinc Wires and more.

As a group our vision is to be constantly innovative while striving to be greener, more sustainable while maintaining the highest ethical standards. We focus on being a value creator that promotes inclusive growth- not only for us, but also our suppliers, customers, business partners and our nation at large. Rooted in Kolkata, it is our aim to rekindle and reestablish West Bengal as the predominant manufacturer of steel and steel products. To achieve this, we aim to establish our brand “NIRMAL” by Achieving Overall Excellence, Innovating Continually, Manufacturing best quality goods at Optimum Cost & Surpassing Customers’ Delight. 

Our journey began in 1971 with Shri Ramautar Saraf at the helm. Fueled by the spark to create the best quality steel products in West Bengal he established a small wire drawing unit under the corporate entity Central Store Supplies (P) Ltd incorporated in 1942 by his late father Shri Jhabarmal Saraf. After many years of hard labor and facing multifarious challenges, he kept the flame alive, and in the year 1985 put up a steel wire galvanizing plant under the corporate entity Nirmal Wires Pvt. Ltd incorporated in 1981.

He handed over the torch, kindled by him, to his sons Mr. Nirmal Saraf, Mr. Raman Saraf and Mr. Piyush Saraf. With the infusion of youthful energy, Team Nirmal knew no limits. In a few years, we established a flourishing business in the steel products industry. The torch, burning brighter than ever before, was handed over to the third generation of leaders: Mr. Varun Saraf, Mr. Prateek Saraf, Mr. Vidyut Saraf, Mr. Parag Saraf and Ms. Shrishti Saraf. They have carried the torch far and wide and are now meeting customer needs in over 42 countries around the globe. 

Moving from one milestone to another, we have now expanded our product range to over 1000 SKUs of different products, including galvanized and black steel wires, zinc wires, aluminum wires and conductors, power cables, fencing and concrete reinforcement solutions, welding electrodes and hot rolled steel products. Some of our wires and their vast applications includewires for producing umbrella ribs, various types of springs, wires for earthing, wires for staying, armouring of cables and concrete re-enforcement wires. These wires are used in the power sector, security & protection, fencing, general engineering, automotive, amongst others.

In a bid to service the retail customer, a distribution network has been set up. This caters to a wide range of consumers in the agricultural sector and the individual household sector. The predominant products reaching this sector are galvanised wires, chain link fence, barbed wire and PVC coated wires and fencing solutions. The retail segment also caters to the small requirements of industrial consumers, providing goods such as welding consumables. These are available at our retail counters.

Moving ahead, some new products have been recently developed, including NIZNAL® ZincAluminium Alloy Coated Wire, which offers up to six times the lifespan of conventional GI wires with unmatched corrosion resistance and durability. To support renewable energy growth, we have enhanced our portfolio with high-performance Aluminium Wire rods, AL-59 Aluminium Alloy Wire rods and 6XXX aluminium rods along with conductors like AAC, AAAC, ACSR, ACAR, ACSS, AACSR engineered for efficient power transmission in solar, wind, and smart grid projects. We have also recently added zinc wires, zinc rods and advanced metallizing solutions to our offerings. These products provide superior surface protection and long-lasting durability, making them highly versatile for applications in infrastructure, automotive, and industrial sectors. Such innovations reflect our commitment to building advanced, sustainable power infrastructure with globally benchmarked quality. Globally, companies with the ability to manufacture these wires can be counted on one’s fingertips. Our future product offerings include Aluminium Clad wires, Low Relaxation Pre-Stressed Concrete Wires and Patented Steel Wires. We plan to attain raw material security by establishing long-term relationships with our raw material manufacturers and by backward integration.  

India is on a mission to be Aatma Nirbhar. To contribute to this goal, the wire and cable industry needs to work hard to develop and manufacture products to substitute imports. We need to make our products and services competitive in cost and unparalleled in quality to gain global leadership. In pursuit of this goal, our company recently launched the Cable section under NIRMAL CABLES, which marks our expansion into cable production with LT PVC, LT XLPE, and LT AB variants that cater to the need for safe, reliable, and future-ready lastmile connectivity solutions. This, in our opinion, is the road ahead for Make in India and Make for the World. India has all the pre-requisites to be a dominant force in the global supply chain of steel & steel products. The international economics conditions are conducive, and customers are receptive to Indian products. The harvest is ready, all we need to do is work hard to reap it and bring it back home. E
